Pattaya, the 28th of February 2010 [PDN]: The Italian Mokador Coffee Company was founded in 1967 by an expert coffee maker an after procuring premium quality coffee beans from South America, these were expertly roasted in Italy. Their head Mokador coffee roasting director has been with this Italian company for 35-years, which indicates the degree of skill that goes into producing consistently perfect cups of coffee for everyone around the world to enjoy.

The current Managing Directors are Niko & Mateo Castellari, who took over from their father, who was the founder of the business, and it has gone from strength to strength. Niko and some of his Mokador team made the trip from Italy, especially to attend the opening of Pattaya’s first Mokador “Café Bar” and were impressed with both the premises plus the friendly and highly trained staff.
Chiang Mai was chosen as the location for the first Mokador Coffee house in Thailand, which was of a modern western European design, but modified for local Asian conditions. The Chiang Mai Manager “JB” put a lot of planning into this new Mokador design, and it was so successful that the new Pattaya Mokador “Café Bar” and restaurant is constructed along exactly the same lines.

A large attendance on the opening day of Pattaya’s first Mokador “Café Bar” saw a lot of visitors, who all agreed that Mokador (Castellari) was indeed “Italy’s premium coffee bean.” But Mokador is much more than just coffer houses, as they distribute their coffee beans all around the world, with wholesaling facilities in Bangkok, Chiang-Mai, Phuket, Pattaya and Samui. Furthermore, they import and market some of the best Italian coffee making machines in the world, so Mokador is truly broad based, well known brand.
I asked one of the Thai founders and the manager of Pattaya’s first Mokador “Café Bar” Mr. Vladimir Golar, (who is actually an Australian), how he perceived the initial public response, and he commented, – “Starting from early the next morning we had an unexpectedly large response, with clients whom we had never seen before, just walking in off the street.”
