Finnish National, Victim of Gold Snatch in Pattaya

Share
A female Finnish National had a necklace snatched from around her neck as she vacated a baht bus in Pattaya.

Pattaya 28th February 2010 [PDN] Pattaya Police Superintendent Suwanlaorng received a call from a Police Volunteer that he had restrained a thief who had snatched a necklace from Mrs. Jat Konk Konen in front of Siam Bayshore Hotel, Thappraya Road, South Pattaya, Nongprue, Banglamung, as he raced past on his motorbike, only to lose control on the road side enabling her husband to apprehend him.

The Officer arrived at the scene to find a much shaken Mrs. Konen [37] waiting to provide a statement to the police. Nearby the offender Mr. Ball (alias) [17] was being detained by a police volunteer along with the evidence of a Tagec necklace and a blue – black Honda Wave motorbike.  They were all escorted to the police station for interrogation.

Mrs. Konen stated that before the incident, she, her husband and two children were riding around on a baht bus sightseeing. When they arrived back at the hotel, whilst alighting from the vehicle, a motorbike came at some speed and snatched the necklace from around her neck. Mrs. Konen continued that she did not notice the offender until he approached her snatching the necklace bought from Finland at a cost of 1,000 euro or 44,000baht.  Losing his balance as he tried to make his escape enabled her husband to apprehend him.  At the same time, a police volunteer approached the scene, taking charge of the offender and radioing for assistance.

The offender has been charged with theft and his motor bike impounded by Pattaya Police Investigator Lieutenant Colonel Phumipat Namphuttha for further legal proceedings.

Thanks for the warm fuzzy glow of humanity there, Dhamyarn.

1; Don't throw pearls before swine on the internet.
2; Don't interract with cheapskate white trash that never have more than 2,000 Baht in their pockets.
3; Remember that some women in the world havn't chosen to be hookers, or been sold into slavery by their pig-shit-thick "families".

For about a year a go I was driving my motorbike in east pattaya along the railway road. And suddenly a a guy in a motorbike came behind me and tried to snatch my gold neckles. Lucky it felt down inside my T-short. Only the locker was damage.

I never use any gold after that. The same happen to my wife in 2nd. Rd. near Tip Plaza, we crossed the road and two guys in a motorbike tried to steal my wifes gold neckes. But it felt down on the road!

If you are going to wear gold in Thailand then it is better to abandon necklaces and stick to golden rings. It is unlikely that thieves will bother with your ring-piece (except ladyboys).

When I came to Pattaya for the first time in 1993 it was common to see gold on tourists and especially Thai people. I can remember thinking what a safe place when people can do this. I went to a gold shop and bought a one baht gold chain.I stopped wearing gold and anything of value a few years ago after a guy on a motorbike had a go at ripping a gold chain off my neck.He missed his goal and I still have the chain.Who needs the hassle.Dont wear gold.
