The “Gay Community” in Pattaya held a very successful Party in Soi Pattayaland-3, which saw hundreds of patrons come to watch the entertainment, and at the same time raised a considerable amount for charity.

Pattaya, February 2010 [PDN]: Instead of having a normal indoor party function, both ends of the street are closed off to allow café style seating for several hundred visitors. A stage erected at the eastern end allows ample space for moderate dance shows and singing groups, complimented with good lighting and an excellent sound system.

As the performances did not commence until 9.30 pm the restaurants either side of the street put on special menus for this event, and adjacent to the stage, the “La Café Royale” with its dining terrace was an ideal vantage point for their customers to view the show.

From the very reasonable 300-baht admission fee, 150-baht went straight to selected charities, plus a percentage of money received from the sales of food and drinks was also donated to the “Pattaya Pride” charities.

The “La Café Royale” also supplied the opening performers, consisting of some young Filipino men who are renowned for their singing prowess, with two of them billed as the famous “El Duo” twins, who sing nightly in the nearby “La Café Royale” Piano Bar and Restaurant.

Together with some relatives and friends, famous female impersonator “Jordan Rivers” from the UK came all the way to Thailand to put on a very amusing comedy show, and there were also a host of other internationally known Gay Artistes. A large amount of funds were raised by the “Pattaya Pride” organization and these will go to the “Heart 2000 Foundation to fight AIDS and HIV, plus some funds will go to other local charities.
