Thailand’s TCI Lands Arrest of Korean Fraudster in Pattaya

Continued investigation by the Chon-Buri Crime Suppression Police in response to the Thai governments crackdown on Transnational criminal hiding within the kingdom, have lead top the arrest of wanted South Korean fraudster Kim Dong Hyun in Pattaya.

Pattaya, the 23rd of February 2010 [PDN]: Chon-Buri Crime Suppression police investigators on Tuesday arrested South Korean national Mr. Kim Dong Hyun [48] who is wanted by the South Korean government over various cases involving real estate fraud and embezzlement.

Mr. Hyun has been a fugitive in Thailand for the last six years after fleeing his native Korea due to warrants being issued for his arrest over several fraudulent real estate transactions. Mr. Hyun has owned and operated a massage parlour in the popular seaside resort town of Pattaya for the last six years where he was successfully apprehended on Tuesday.

An international arrest warrant issued against Mr. Hyun brought him to the attention of the recently established taskforce involved with investigating foreign transnational criminals in the Chon-Buri province. Mr. Hyun is believed to have fraudulently obtained up to 20-million baht from his fellow countrymen by way of a real estate investment business before he proceeded to embezzle his various partners’ money and fleeing to Thailand.

Mr. Hyun will now be transferred to the Immigration Bureau Investigators and extradited to faces the charges levelled against him in South Korea.

If he was a fugitive in Thailand for the last 6 years, operating a massage parlour, he must have been "hiding in plain sight". Some would be embarassed by this fact, but, apparently not here.....LOL
