Pattaya Youths Steal Taxi & Viciously Assault Driver

Share
A Taxi driver on his way back to Bangkok stopped to pick up three Thai youths in Pattaya, taking them to Sattahip. The three youths subsequently viciously assaulted and robbed the driver of his money and stole the taxi.

Sattahip, the 23rd of February 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 00:30am on Tuesday, police Captain Bandit Techawong (Sattahip Police Investigator) received a report from Mr. Sanya Nuchaem [48] a taxi driver from Bangkok, stating that he had been robbed of his money and car by three local Thai youths. Mr. Nuchaem explained that he was in need of assistance at the Takienthong Religious Shrine in Sattahip. A team of police along with rescue officers from the Sawang Rodjanatham Foundation rushed to the scene to investigate.

Arriving at the scene, officers could not immediately locate the victim, turning on their sirens Mr. Nuchaem appeared from the surrounding bushland. Mr. Nuchaem was subsequently treated by medical personnel as he had a severely swollen face and was bleeding from both his nose and mouth. After police briefly interrogated him, he was taken to the Sattahip Navy Hospital for further treatment.

Mr. Nuchaem gave police a statement revealing that he had driven two passengers, in his pink/blue Toyota Altis taxi, from Bangkok to the Jomtien Beach Hotel. On the way back to Bangkok he informed police that he had stopped to pick up three Thai youths on 3rd Road who requested to be taken to the 5th intersection in Sattahip for 300 baht. Accepting the generous fare, Mr. Nuchaem drove to the destination, however; upon arriving there the three youths then requested that they be driven to the Takienthong Religious Shrine in Sattahip. Again, Mr. Nuchaem obliged his passengers, driving to the stated location. Mr. Nuchaem explained that; once he arrived at the destination he was put in a headlock from behind before being punched and kicked repeatedly in the face. The youths then stole 1,500 baht from him before kicking him out of the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Damrong Uansoongnern (Sattahip Crime Suppression Police) and police Major General Parus Samat (Sattahip Police Investigator) in further interrogations with Mr. Nuchaem learned that the three offenders all had long hair and were wearing t-shirts and blue jeans. They are also believed to be between the ages of 15-18 years-old. Police at present are assuming that the three youths had committed similar crimes before and that the taxi would almost certainly be dumped in the bushland nearby as it was apparently quite low on gasoline. Investigation will continue in an attempt to apprehend these violent youths and bring them to justice before they reoffend.

I would like to suggest to Khun Nuchaem to paste 2 large 'SWAT' stickers on both sides on his pink taxi to avoid any further and similar problems.

Having such stickers on a flashy colored car has proven to be very effective and probably the best way to get respected by anyone in and around Pattaya.

I would warn ALL taxi drivers not to pick up Thai citizens who are male and aged 50 or under. The vast majority are drug addicts, alcoholics, wife-beaters, gamblers and psychopaths. This man should feel lucky to be alive. Normally he would have been taken to waste ground by the three Thai men, stripped, gang-raped (they don't care which hole when they're drugged up), repeatedly slashed and mutilated and then draped in old car tyres and set alight.

This just shows how many drugs are still on the streets outside there. I remember that Thaksin was actually able to get a grip on this issue. He teached them the hard way. The driver can be happy that he is still alive. They could have killed him so that he cant identify them afterwards.
