Underage sex is only a privalage for the Muslim community. Us westerners that indulage in these forbidden pleasures are arrested and named. But for some reason its ok for a Muslim man 40+ to marry his 12 year old cousin. If you want to go after some one go after them.
In Britian in the 90′s Gay sex was set at 21years old, then a number of MP’s gat caught having sex with rent boys under 21. Litterally over night the age of gay sex went down to 16. Funny how those in Power make the rules to suit themselves.

JYK – you miss my point. Victims of child abuse in thailand are both boys and girls, mostly by their family and then sicko westerners (eg gary glitter). On the age of consent: If she’s 17 and he’s 18, fine. If she’s 17 and he’s 50, you get the picture….. it’s sick, there’s a line not to be crossed. Pattaya’s geriatric population are already swaggering around beach road with girls old enough to be their granddaughter. How would you feel if you granddaughter turned up at your house with a pensioner…

Thailand is simply acting on pressure from the International community to maintain the age of consent at 18 and to control teen prostitution. In reality underage girls have always been very sexually active in the land of smiles. Why do you think they smile so much Every guy has some form of so called pedophilia, so what. I don’t condone underage prostitution but I don’t criminalize it either. So many people take the whole issue of our sexuality way to seriously. Any girl who’s around 16 or younger, accept it or not, is ready for fun. So why label anyone a pedophile. I think we should be much more concerned with dangerous violent predatory types of people rather than people who are attracted to and desire young girls. Give em all a break. Decriminalize teen sex with adults and get over it already.

In my view, the age of consent is Thailand is 15, therefore, the girls were not objects of a pedophilia. However, Thai law says that it’s illegal to have contact with a minor 15 to 17 years of age if the sex act can be construed to also be an act of prostitution. Typical double standards.
