Pattaya 10th February 2010 [PDN] Police Lieutenant Prasit Lekdee (Banglamung Police Investigator) was notified, at 5.30pm on 8th February, that a middle aged Thai man identified as Mr. Sanor Phianpichaipong had committed suicide in Pattaya. A team of police rushed to the scene along with rescue officers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation to investigate the situation further.
Arriving at the scene, a single storey block of rental rooms, officers found the body of Mr. Phianpichaipong hanging from a roof beam with a 2 metre long electrical cable tied around his neck. Mr. Phianpichaipong was wearing a white t-shirt and a striped pair of pants at the time of his death. There were no signs of assault with medical examiners estimating the man had been dead for approximately one hour. Mr. Phianpichaipong had left a suicide note explaining that he was under too much stress and had begun stealing money from his boss in order to finance his debts and pay for other expenses.
The officer interviewed the brother of the dead man Mr. Thanorm Phianpichaipong [50] who told him that Mr. Sanor worked as a handyman for the rooms and had so much debt that he stole from his boss but could not find the money to pay him back which led him to take his own life.
The officer reported the evidence and will continue with the investigation before releasing the deceased to his relatives for the funeral.
