A severe accident involving a family sedan and a pickup occurred on Tuesday morning.. Fortunately no one died in the accident although both cars were written off.

Sattahip, the 9th of February 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 5:30am on Tuesday. Police Lieutenant Colonel Attharot Krongrat (Sattahip Police Investigator) was informed by the Sawang Rojanatham Foundation that a severe car accident had occurred on the Sukhumvit Road at the 117 Kilometer mark, Sattahip. Officers went to the scene to investigate.

At the scene, opposite the Sea Paradise Hotel, a black Chevrolet Sedan (Reg. Roy Ed) was parked on the roadside with a severely damaged front-end. The driver Miss Jiraporn Wichian [21] from Sattahip was standing nearby. Lying on the opposite side of the road on its roof was a golden bronze Isuzu D-Max pick-up. The driver Sergeant Major Prit Phumkong [37] an Aircraft Combat and Coast Maintenance Officer was suffering from minor injuries and was sent to the Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital for treatment.

After interrogation it was revealed by Miss Wichian that she had been driving along the Sukhumvit Road from Pattaya when she collided with the rear of the pickup. She claims that at high speed she did not notice the pickup in front of her. The force of the collision caused the pickup to be thrown over the traffic island hitting a Pradu tree before rolling several times.

Police will now proceed to interrogate Mr. Phumkong upon his release from hospital, in order to properly assertain the cause of the accident.

For the knowledge of PDN and the reporter:
In the military or police, an officer holds a rank of lieutenant, captain, major, colonel, general, admiral or similar.

A private, corporal or ANY level of seargent is NEVER an officer, but is an enlisted man.

There is a very clear distinction that anyone who has been in the military knows.
