CHANGE THE LAW, CHANGE THE LAW, CHANGE THE LAW:

Every two or three years the Pattaya city council change or enter into an ivestigation into the reasons or need for changing the Pattaya and Jomtien Beach Vendors regulations.

For once and for all will they finally decide what to do with it and leave it alone?

The beaches are a disgrace as it is and most of rules and regs are set up for the unorganized 2nd hand tourist sales and boat taxis to Koh Larn. It is impossible to walk along the extensive prominade from North Pataya to South Pattaya without having to go around some sort of vendor who has set him or herself up in the middle of the sidewalk. A few years back it was so bad that one actually had to walk off the side walk to get by. The whole beach vending thing needs to be looked at, not just the chair venders. They for the most part are hard working small buisness people and earn every baht they charge. Leave the sellers alone and just sell them permits to be there and limit the number of them. Get it right and leave it alone for once and for all. Kick out the baoat taxis from the beaches and limit the fun rides to two or three spots along the beach.

It seems the Pattaya City council spend more time surveying and taking measurements than anything else. What happened to the change in lot size instituted two years ago? All the vendors got (supposedly) down sized and moved around as far as their property lines were conserned. Now you want to move them further back from the High Tide line which varies through out the year. Another flexible law for sure.

People play very little recreational activities on the beach anyway, as there is too much broken glass and garbage on the beach and in the sand. I have lost track of the number of pieces of glass that I have picked up over the twenty years or so that I have been vacationing in Pattaya.

Fire those silly wanna be police who chase little ole ladies up and down the beach for selling food stuffs and trinkets to the tourists. Permit the sellers, make them legal and limit the number of them as you do the chair venders. Save yourself the wages of the super snoopers who drive around in their incognito trucks trying to sneak up on venders of special foods when they have a staff party planned later in the day. Come on Pattaya, get your sh-- together and make it fun to be at the beach.

You wonder why your numbers of tourists are down, well this could be part of it. Change if you must but don't keep changing every two or so years.

It seems every Mayor has his thoughts on the ideas and never really lasts long enough to see his thoughts in action.

Lets Go. Yeow!!!!!

A pity they do not have a regular clean up of the beach each week!!

This is the worst beach in Thailand and probably Asia, broken concrete, sand bags and rubbish everywhere. The Mayor should be ashamed!

Pattaya and jomtien beach are so crowded with chair, that you feel more like in a theater than a beach when to go there. Except that in a theather the walkway is larger.
Yes more free space is really required.
And this should even be good for the beach business because most of the time there is hundred of empty chair. to remove them would not hurt the business.
