American Soldiers Find Dead Body on Beach Near Pattaya

A group of American soldiers discovered the severely decayed body of an unknown man who had washed up on the Had Yaw beach, Sattahip.

Sattahip, the 2nd of February 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 2:00pm, police Captain Bundit Techawong (Sattahip Police Investigator) received a report from a Lieutenant at the Sattahip Naval Base stating that the deceased body of an unknown man had washed up on Had Yaw Beach in Sattahip. A team of police officers along with the Sawang Rodjanatham Foundation went to the scene to investigate.

At the scene, near the Cobra Gold 2010 administration on the Had Yaw beach, officers discovered the heavily decayed body of an unknown Thai man lying on the beach surrounded by a group of American Soldiers. The dead body had been separated from the head which was found several meters away. Due to the fact that the body had been immersed in sea water it is unknown exactly how long ago the man had died, however; medical personnel estimate that he had been dead for no longer than 2 weeks. The body was subsequently sent to the Sattahip Hospital for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Police Captain Bundit Techawong stated that the deceased could possibly have been a fisherman who had been murdered and dumped out at sea in an attempt to cover up the crime. An investigation has commenced to assertain the identity of the man.
