Pattaya, the 1st of February 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 5:00am police Lieutenant Colonel Jakkarin Touhsuphap (Pattaya Police Investigator) received a report stating that a Thai woman had been shot by an unknown gunman near the Araya Villa, Soi Siam Country Club, Pattaya. A team of police officers and medical personnel from the Pattaya Memorial Hospital rushed to the scene to investigate further.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the injured woman, Miss Kallaya Khorsanguannam [37] suffering from a gunshot wound to the bottom. The medical team from the Pattaya Memorial Hospital provided on the spot first-aid before rushing her to the hospital to have the bullet removed. A black Yamaha Nouvo motorbike parked in the victims’ front yard had suffered a punctured tire and damage to the seat as a result of further gunfire.

Approximately 500 meters from their residences the pickups passenger began to fire at them from behind hitting the motorbikes rear wheel and seat with two shots. Scared for their lives, they ditched the motorbike in the front yard running into the house, however; a third shot was fired as the couple tried to escape, hitting Miss Khorsanguannam in the bottom. The offenders fled the scene after the victims had run into their house.

No, over the years not much changed in this place.
I reckon over the last ten years I have put around 2 million baht into the economy simply as a tourist.
But the last two visits have seen me threatened with a knife, run off the road, had a gun waved at me from a pick up,been ripped off with bar bills too many times to mention, seen hotels pigs wouldn't sleep in. Enoughs enough.
Pattaya is now as expensive for me as Las Vegas and thats cleaner safer and just as much fun.
The City Hall and large swings instead of doing nothing in the speeches and shines. This is not a good advertisement for Pattaya's not good publicity for Thailand.
So as usual the cops are absolutely bloody clueless!!!
Well done boys.
