Pattaya, – Saturday 30th January 2010 [PDN]: – In an exclusive interview with Pattaya Daily News, Khun Niti Kongrut, who is the Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for the Province of Chonburi, announced an exciting new program for the 2010 “Chinese New Year” celebrations. For the first time in Pattaya, three Chinese acrobatic groups have been contracted to travel to Pattaya City and give special performances over three days and these entertainment troupes come from vastly different regions of China, including one group from Tibet.
The first performance will on the afternoon of the 14th February, in front the Central-Festival.Shopping Complex on South Pattaya’s Beach Road, which will also give everyone a chance to do some Chinese New Year shopping.
The next performances will be at South Pattaya’s Bali Hai Pier on Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th February, so do not miss out on viewing what are generally considered as the best acrobatic performers in the world. With over thirty performers it was obvious that the big Bali Hai stage was the most suitable venue in Pattaya, and Naklua in North Pattaya was considered too be a bit small for such a large performance.
TAT Director Khun Niti stated that these events would be promoted locally on both Pattaya & Chonburi radio stations with great effect, as they are free and enormously popular. Visitors traditionally come from our local Chonburi region and other parts of Thailand, but this year there will be a big influx of tourists from Korea, plus a large number of charter flights from China. He further stated, – “We predict that many hotels will be fully booked out during these bigger and better Chinese New Year Celebration festivities.”
