Pattaya, the 29th of January 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 1:00pm, a police taskforce from the Prevention of Trafficking of Woman and Children Office along with Mr. Supakorn Noja (Child Protection & Development Center Director) went to investigate a reported child sex abuse case at the Central Festival Building on South Pattaya’s Beach Road.

Allegedly a Thai man had deceived 4 young boys into providing sexual services in the bathrooms of the shopping center. Upon arrival police were informed that the man involved had fled after the incident, walking north along Beach Road. Fortunately police were able to apprehend Mr. Manop Naegnit [48] at the entrance to Soi 10 along the Beach Road. Mr. Naegnit was arrested and taken to the Pattaya police station for interrogation, along with the four boys who had been found still in the vicinity of Central Festival Shopping Center.

Under interrogation Mr. Naegnit explained to police that he was a foreman at a construction site behind Pothisarn Temple, Naklua. He stated that he had met the boys at the Central Festival Shopping Center, providing them with oral pleasure in the bathrooms before paying them 200 baht each. Mr. Naegit continued to plead that he did not assault them at anytime during their meeting, stating that the boys were not scared or hurt and it was consentual. The four boys were between the ages of 12-13 and as such Mr. Naegnit has been charged with indecently assaulting a minor under the age of 15.
The four boys involved in the incident explained that Mr. Naegnit approached them while they were hanging around the Central Festival Shopping Center. They stated that Mr. Naegnit had been really friendly towards them before he deceived them into joining him in the bathroom where he committed the indecent act, paying each of them 200 baht to keep quiet.
