American Pedophile Arrested in Thailand Faces Court

American national Darren Castleberry arrested in Thailand in 2008 after and international manhunt had succeeded in tracking him down in relation to a host of sexual assault charges.

Texas, the 26th of January 2010 [PDN]: Mr. Castleberry was discovered performing a variety of sexual acts with minors in a series of photo’s and video’s found by his ex-wife in the marital home in 2006. However; fleeing shortly before his indictment, Nr. Castleberry took refuge in Thailand, but was caught in 2009 after several years of an international manhunt had tracked him down. Mr. Castleberry was extradited back to the US under an agreement between the US and Thai governments.

 

Mr. Castleberry has pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault however he also faces two more serious charges relating to the aggravated sexual assault of a child which he had pleaded not-guilt to. Prosecutors stated that Mr. Castleberry faces 12 charges in all, dating as far back as 1984 where he allegedly raped four girls and videotaped the incident. All of his victims were between the ages of 5-10 years-old.

Mr. Castleberry’s ex-wife, Kimberly, testified against him in court, explaining to the magistrate that in 2006 she had discovered a lockbox in their marital home which contained several graphically explicit photos and videos of her husband sexually interfering with various minors.

If convicted Mr. Castleberry will likely be given life in prison with the minimum expected to be 20 years. In relation to the charges that are still to be brought against him Mr. Castleberry has pleaded not guilty.

When was he arrested,when was he extradited. Why was this reported again with the Headline American Arrested making it seem as he was just caught for the first time. You trying to get double flavor out of old news. Sad because it shows true colors of Pattaya Daily news just wanting to make it look lik another American was just caught.
