Pattaya 25th January 2010 [PDN] At 5.30 am, Police Lieutenant Colonel Weerawut Meelite, a Pattaya Police Investigator received a report of an attempted suicide of a foreign national in the Pattaya Prison. (name and identity with held) by tying his shoe laces around his neck and the bars of the prison.
On his arrival the officials had released the man who was unconcious and the rescue team had been contacted. The man was rushed to the Banglamung Hospital for treatment.

Investigations found the man had been arrested for being drunk and disorderly after smashing up a clothes shop on the Beach Road. The shop owner called the police and the man was taken the temporary Pattaya prison. He was due to be question once he had sobered up. Fortunately for him, he was found by other prisoners who alerted the officials.
