Pattaya, the 20st of January 2010 [PDN]: Pattaya City Permanent Secretary Mr. Wutipol Jarernpol chaired the meeting between Pattaya City Hall officials and representatives from the Good Idea Organise and Event to Support companies that have been employed to co-manage the organisation of the upcoming Chinese New Year and Valentines festivities. A budget of almost 2 million baht was announced, to ensure that the celebrations for the popular festival were amongst the best in Thailand.

At the meeting, both companies presented there individual ideas and activities scheduled for the 2 week celebrations to the Pattaya City Hall officials. The promotional slogan for the festival location – South Pattaya’s, Bali Hai Pier – was announced as “Pattaya China Town,” which will be marketed on a range of different media types and in various key locations throughout Pattaya.

Activities at the festival will include a Chinese Dress Competition, Variety of parades featuring hundreds of professional actors and the traditional Chinese dance and drama performances that are most commonly associated with the festival. Further to the more traditional events an art exhibition will also be held at the pier over the course of the celebrations. This years Chinese New Year and Valentine festival will run between the 4-16th of February.
