Kirilenko who is gifted with skills as well as good looks has made a good start to the season reaching the quarter finals in Auckland last week. She plans to arrive in Pattaya one week before the tournament starts to acclimatize and prepare for the tournament which features fellow Russian Vera Zvonareva and Germany’s Sabine Lisicki as the top seeds. Kirilenko is making her second appearance in Pattaya, her first visit three years ago ended in disappointment with a first round loss, but this year she is determined to improve and go all the way to the final.

The PTT Pattaya Open, part of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour has generated plenty of interest from overseas with heavy ticket bookings being made for the finals weekend and extensive international TV coverage over the final three days confirmed including Russia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, UK and USA as well as STAR/ESPN in Asia.
Tickets for the tournament are on sale at the following prices:
Sunday 7 February: (qualifying rounds) – 200 baht.
Monday 8 February – Thursday 11 February:
(1st and 2nd rounds of main draw) – 300, 500 and 800 baht.
Friday 12 February – Sunday 14 February:
(Quarters, semi-finals and final) – 300, 500, 800 and 1000 baht.
Only a very limited number of tickets priced at 800 baht and 1,000 baht remain for Saturday 13 February and Sunday 14 February.
