Children’s Day Festivities at Pattaya City Hall

Children’s Day festivities were held at Pattaya City Hall on Saturday, the president of the event, Mayor Ittipol Khunpluem announced the 2010 slogan for the kids, “be creative, diligent and respect virtue.”

Pattaya, the 9th of January 2010 [PDN]: Every year on Children’s Day the Thai Prime Minister announces a yearly “slogan for the kids.” The main objective being; to celebrate children as the nation’s future. This year the government policy emphasised the need for parents to take better care of their children, and the need to reduce the rapidly increasing homeless situation.

The event at Pattaya City Hall was held between 8:00am and 12:00 pm with naval and army demonstrations including tanks, guns and various aircraft as well as magic shows and a display by the Pattaya City Fire Department.

Exhibition booths were setup by Pattaya United Football Club and the Sanctuary of Truth Orphanage, who provided various activities for the children to participate in and enjoy.

All the children – the real special guests for the day – went home with a smile on their face and a present in hands as well.
