Pattaya, the 1st of January 2010 [PDN]: Police Lieutenant Nittiphoom Butwong (Pattaya Police Investigator) received a report at approximately 3:50am on Friday that a Thai man was being treated in hospital for a severe gash and was claiming to have been assaulted and robbed. A team of police went to the hospital to investigate the incident further.
Police arrived at the hospital to find Mr Kittipit Anutyothin [43] a building contractor, suffering from a severe laceration to the head and several to the body. After Mr. Anutyothin had received medical treatment police requested he provide a statement of the night’s events leading up to the assault.
Mr. Anutyothin claimed that he had received a call from a Miss Ple [20], a girl he was interested in, who asked for him to attend a karaoke bar in Soi Chaiyapruk 2 in order to celebrate the New Year. He stated that he had driven to the bar to meet Miss Ple and was surprised to find her sitting with another Thai man, who Miss Ple later stated was her relative. After drinking for a while Mr. Anutyothin asked Miss Ple if she would like to accompany him home tonight, she accepted, asking that they drop her relative home first.

Accepting Miss Ple’s offer to give here relative a lift home the three decided to leave the establishment. Driving a short way down the road the man (Miss Ple’s relative) pulled a gun on Mr. Anutyothin and ordered him to let Miss Ple drive. They then proceeded to drive into Soi Huaitai where they forced Mr. Anutyothin to get out of the car and withdraw 10,000 baht from the ATM. After that they drove back to Soi Chaiyapruk 2 where Mr. Anutyothin tried to escape and was subsequently viciously attack with a meat cleaver by Miss Ple’s relative before they stole his mobile phone and fled the scene in the car.
The police have made a report of the incident and will commence an investigation in order to apprehend the violent suspects and bring them to justice.
