Charity Golf Day At Plataluang

Share
Pattaya,Friday 25th September 2009 [PDN]: -Within our business community, three of our forward thinking leaders got together and decided to use their expertise to do something worthwhile for the Kingdom. They came up with an innovative idea to combine a charity golf tournament with a fund raising party in the evening that would include a range of entertainment.

After months of planning the beautiful Plataluang Navy Golf Course on the way to Sattahip was finally selected as being the best for this team event. Even though it was a 12-midday “shotgun start,” players started arriving at 10.00 am, even from as far away as Bangkok, and this was a fun day of golf for teams of four players. Fees were cheaper than normal, which made the golfers very happy, and out of these 110 entrees, 200-baht from each golfer went to charity, so it was a “win – win” day of golfing.

Slightly overcast and not too hot saw some great scores produced by some highly experienced golfers, who regularly play on this course, with the winning team being the “Finex” Apparel Company, who were major sponsors, and whose four man team produced an incredible score of 54, (which is an amazingly low eighteen below par). Many golfers commented that if you put the best golfers in the world on this course, they would be unlikely to come up with a better score, and the experience of playing regularly at Plataluang counts for a lot of these excellent scores.

Three of Pattaya’s “Movers and Shakers” put a lot of work into organizing this very rewarding charity day, and they were the Real Estate Magazine, JVK International Movers, and Town & Country Properties. With 110-golfers taking part, there were some great scores, with the winning team being “Finex” Apparel Company, whose four man team produced an incredible score of 54, (which is 18 below par). Second was “Paradise City” (60), and third was “RSM Thailand” (63). These teams were very accomplished golfers and as well as having a fun day of golfing, a lot of money was raised for charity.

In the evening some great entertainment followed at “The Village” on the junction of Chaijapruek-1 Road and Sukhumvit, and further amounts of cash were raised to bring the total to around 130,000 baht. This evening event was arranged in conjunction with the Light-House Club of Thailand, which is made up of all types of businesses associated with the construction industry. They perform excellent charity work helping the children of construction workers, who live on site and usually have very limited educational facilities, so mobile classrooms are just one area where they have made big advancements.
