Very soon, the Chateau Dale Shopping Mall will be open to provide convenient shopping facilities, including a 7/11 store, bank, supermarket and massage parlour, otherwise all these can be easily obtained, now, within easy walking distance.
The five apartments for rent are located within the new Chateau Dale Thabali Condo Complex, which surrounds a contoured tropical garden, housing a central communal swimming pool (open from 8:30am to 10:00pm), the luxury Oasis Spa, providing full massage and spa packages, and the Coffee Shop, serving quality Thai and European food. The wide, oval-shaped layout of the complex is refreshingly different as the majority of condominium buildings in Pattaya and environs are nowhere near as innovative, or so generously provided with such pleasant central open spaces.
No sound, apart from gentle birdsong and the joyful cries of playing children swimming, faintly heard through the trees, can disturb the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity, which pervades the complex. This sense of tranquillity is enhanced by subtle lighting at night, provided by discreetly placed lamps. Yet, within a five-minute baht-bus, motor-cycle or car ride, you have Jomtien Beach, with its multiple water-sport attractions and the best fine-dining restaurants in the region. In the other direction, a mere 15 minutes away by baht-bus, motor-cycle or car, you have Pattaya with its exotic night-life, comprehensive shopping facilities and other myriad attractions, including sailing facilities, gymnasiums and 25+ high-standard gold courses, close at hand.
The first two apartments for rent, 467/7 and 468/2, are fully-furnished, single-bedroom, garden condos; mirror-images of each other. The two-room, 80m2 apartments are reminiscent of Spanish-style villas with half-moon openings through to the bedroom, but are actually Thai-Bali in concept. The large Living-Room, tastefully decorated in Thai-Lanna style, with its hardwood doors, tiled floors, traditional Thai frescos and prints, has a four-man sofa, occasional table, compact circular glass-topped table and four chairs and a wall-mounted, 32” LCD screen with 60 channels, provided by both UBC and Sophon Cable TV. Internet facilities are also available, provided by Maxnet and the state-of-the-art, direct telephone has a facility whereby one can send emails.
Also in the Living Room is a compact, fully-equipped kitchenette, with 2 glass-ceramic electric hotplates, large Samsung fridge, microwave oven, bread warmer and hot water kettle, as well as running hot water, tableware and cutlery for four is also provided. In the corner stands an imposing potted plant, which sets the scene for the Baliesque terrace, just through the sliding French windows. The terrace is again amply furnished with a large armchair-recliner and small table and chairs, perfect for snacks or drinks. It is protected from the glare of the sun by tempered glass awnings, while at the terrace end is a large vegetation area to match the prolific verdancy of the tropical plants, which flank the apartment to screen the terrace, both in terms of view and sound, from the central garden area. This ensures perfect privacy and tranquillity.
The bedroom, again tastefully decorated in Thai-Lanna style, has a king-size double bed, with two changes of bed linen, bedside tables, ample compact storage space, side lamps and foot stool included. The bathroom, also with hot water, has marble-topped fixtures, a Bali-style garden hot water shower, which is enclosed, ensuring no insects can penetrate the apartment. Internal security is provided by a video-phone, allowing one to see who is at the door and an alarm button; while external security is provided by a security guard patrol, active 24/7, including patrols of the swimming pool, though parents are requested to safeguard their own children’s swimming. Covered parking is also provided right outside the front door. Cleaning services are not included in the rent, but for a mere Bt300 a day, a five-man team will come and ensure your apartment is spotless. The rent is a very reasonable Bt30,000 for one month, payable in advance, plus one month’s deposit. This monthly rent includes all extraneous payments, such as maintenance, that one would be normally expected to pay extra for, but has been generously waived by the owners. Other lengths of stay will necessarily be slightly more expensive, but can be negotiated with the owners.
The next two apartments, 468/20 and 468/12 are located on the 2nd and 3rd Floors of Building 4/2, respectively. They will be available from November onwards. They are slightly larger than the first two apartments and have separate kitchens; partitioned off from the Living Room by open, standing display cabinets. Rather than terraces, like the garden condo apartments, they have balconies of similar proportions, overlooking the central tropical garden and swimming pool. All the amenities in the first two apartments are duplicated in the upper floor ones, with slightly different furnishings and accessories, but rather than wall-mounted LCD screens, they have free-standing TVs, though with the same cable facilities. The rental terms are also the same.
The final apartment on the upper floor, with perfect views overlooking the central tropical garden and swimming pool, has two bedrooms, is on two floors and has two balconies, accessed by sliding French windows. Again, it is fully-furnished, with all the modern amenities that can be found in the other four apartments; however, entry is by magnetic entry card – a further security feature. The rent, at Bt35,000 per month for one year, plus one month’s deposit, is slightly more expensive, as befits the size and the fact that it has two bedrooms.
A word or two must be said about the spa, before we go. It is extremely unusual to have a branded-spa of such high standard in a condominium complex and residents are indeed privileged to have the presence of an Oasis Spa on site. The spa is also essentially for the exclusive use of residents and their guests, so there will be virtually no waiting involved. The Oasis Spa provides a full menu of spa packages, for instance the Lanna Style package is a 3-in-1, providing Traditional Thai Massage, followed by Thai Herbal Hot Compress Massage and finishing off with an Aromatherapy Full Body Oil Massage. All this over two hours for a very reasonable Bt1,900. Two more examples should suffice to illustrate the range of treatments offered: a Orange & Honey Scrub lasts for 1 hour and costs Bt1,200, and an Aromatherapy Floral Bath lasts for 30 minutes and costs Bt650. Most massages are suitable for either sex and are administered by trained and certified practitioners, so if you are in Jomtien for a year, or only for a short holiday, it is definitely a sensual experience not to be missed.
