Each year the Thai people arrange a multitude of events to celebrate the Kings Birthday, whom they love and respect and regard as the Devoted Father of the Country but this year is extra special, as this is also the Kings 60th Anniversary of Accession to the Throne.
As part of the festivities, Deputy Mayor Werawat Khakhay held a meeting with the President of ‘Pattaya Running Association’, Mr. Anupong Udomratkulchai and his committee, to plan the annual run through Pattaya. This is the sixth year the event has been held and the third year of support by Pattaya City Hall, through Mayor Niran Wattanasasathorn and his team.
Pattaya City Hall has invited all the major Schools and Sports Associations to participate. Free lunch boxes, water and yellow T-shirts will be distributed to everyone who takes part.
”We will do our best to get more people to join in. There will be more activities than ever because this year is so special.” Said Deputy Mayor Werawat Khakhay.
The run will start at the Pattaya Tourist Police Station located on Phra Tamnak Rd. and continue along Pattaya Second Road towards Central Pattaya Road. At Central Pattaya Road, the participants will turn down towards Beach road and then run along Beach road, through Walking Street and up to Balihai Pier. The runners will then turn into Attajinda Road and finish the run at the Start Point on Pra Tamnak Rd. A ceremony will be held at the Finishing Line, including a Prize Giving Presentation for the winners.
