Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra looked relaxed but sweaty Thursday as he enjoyed a round of golf in Bali, where he hopes to spend the next week.

“I am fine, but hot,” Thaksin told a dozen photographers waiting for a glimpse of the now-exiled telecom tycoon at the Nirwana Golf Club’s ninth hole.

Two men who were accompanying Thaksin tried to usher off the paparazzi, but the Thaksin just smiled and said “So many of you.”

Thaksin, who arrived in Bali on Wednesday, and plan to enjoy his holiday there for a week.

Speaking to journalists at the Bali Nirwana Resort, Thaksin said his trip to Bali was for leisure activities only.

“I will surely return home because there’s my home. I do want to,” he said.

Asked if he was awaiting elections results before going home, he said, “I don’t want to talk about politics.”

Thaksin said after his stay in Bali, he may continue trips to Perth or Beijing.

“I have been working hard for many years, I like to spend some time to relax,” said Thaksin, adding he wanted to eventually return to Thailand, as “it is my home.”
