One trip for 2 countries

Udonthani Provinicial Governor, Mr.Jaruek Parinyapol, attended a discussion “On means and way to obtain tourism cooperation for Thai-Lao” at the Laopan Conference Room, in Jaroen Hotel, Udonthani. The conference was held last 30th August 2006, and it was attended by various representatives to discuss methods to promote tourism for both Thai-Lao. Mr. Rattankij Manatat, Thai Ambassador of Vientiane, Mr. Supoj Loawansiri, Governor of Nongkai Province and Mr. Sukasem Pothisan, Vice President of Tourism Authority of Lao.

The conference was held for the promotional project “to lift up the standard of Thai-Lao Tourism” which is supported by the Thai Embassy in Vientiane together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, North Eastern, Region 5. The objective of this meeting was to promote tourism between the two countries, to encourage the tourist business operator in the North Eastern Region (Udonthani-Nongkai) and those business operators in Loa to be able to sell a tourist package “one trip for 2 countries” with Udonthani-Nongkai as a gateway to travel to Vientianne and other district of Laos.

On this project there was a promotional sale for Road Show to the Eastern Region from 31 August to 3 September 2006. To publicize various tourist places in relation to the Green Season and the Golden Month. As well as to advertised international standard seminar places in various location among tourist and Corporate Group in Pattaya, Chonburi and Rayong, which will result to an increase number of travellers to the neighbouring country.

The project was to heighten up the status of tourism for Thai-Laos, to continue the good diplomatic relationship between the two countries. Including Udonthani and Nongkai provinces. In the past there quite a few campaigns had been set up which build the good relationship, such as trading, investment in the Thai-Lao border and Thailand Exhibition for OTOP products. The relationship between the two countries would be more strengthen in respect to the economy, education, trading, investment and tourism, all aiming for success.
