Pattaya City has spend 500,000 Baht to get ‘Makoto’ from Japan, to join in future activities organized by Pattaya City, with the hope of attracting the younger generation to Pattaya.

At Pattaya City Hall, Mr. Niran Wattanasatsathorn, the Mayor was Chairman of a Public Relations Planning Meeting. Representatives from the Tourism Authority District 3, Mr. Tanes Suporsahasarangsri, President of Pattaya Business & Tourism Association, Miss Boontarik Gusolwitaya, Vice-President of the Hotel Association , Eastern Region, and many business operators came to discuss the program designed to promote youth tourism in Pattaya.

               Mr. Veerawat said that at the moment Pattaya has a lot of visitors from Japan, more than 1 million per year. ‘Makoto’ would be a great idea to encourage the younger Japanese generation who have the buying power for package holidays here.

               Miss Boontarik Gusolwitaya, Vice-President of Hotel Association for the Eastern Region added that according to the information received “Makoto” the previous lead singer of Lucifer Band,  is very popular in Japan , Asia and Europe. “Makoto” performed in the 2005 Pattaya Music International. She said that she liked Pattaya very much. That gave us the idea of inviting “Makoto” to join in the activities to be organized by Pattaya City.

               The activities might include traveling to various tourist attractions, such as Koh Larn by yacht from Ocean Marina, who will join in the activities .Other selling points will be The Sanctuary of Truth, Hard Rock Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Sofitel Garden Cliff Beach Resort, and so on. Hopefully, we will be able to draw the fan club of “Makato”, from both Thailand and Japan.

               The kind of tourists that we aim for, will be good quality young travelers.Pattaya City is the city of entertainment and that would be the biggest selling point. According to ‘Makoto’s work schedule, he will be available between 3-4 September. So it would be a good opportunity to invite him to join in the activities of promoting Tourism here.

               The meeting readily agreed that Pattaya City will benefit from this and approved the plan. They now await confirmation from ‘Makoto’ that he will come.
